Arizona is one of fastest growing states in the country in terms of population. Millions of people are having more and more children and people from all across the United States are moving to Arizona to find work and raise their families. This has brought along with it booming industrial growth, but it has also resulted in a somewhat unforeseen consequence: the need for fast housing.

To solve this problem and answer the call of neighborhoods, city municipalities, and residents themselves, several land developers have been turning to homeowner’s associations, which solves many of the issues of housing but creates another problem: how to manage Arizona HOAs that are being built.

The Problem

Like we mentioned above, HOAs do a lot of good for several people. Arizona cities enjoy HOAs because they are private property which the city doesn’t have to maintain, thus being free to allocate tax dollars to other projects that enhance the city. Residents benefit from HOAs as basic home and lawn care is provided for them and there are generally neighborhood watch and police patrols that keep the community safe.

The problem with HOAs, however, doesn’t usually fall on the residents themselves, but rather the management of the HOA. Arizona HOA boards of directors, who generally consist of residents living in the HOA where they preside, are generally responsible for overseeing all of the operations of an HOA, which are exhaustive and time-consuming. These responsibilities include receiving, recording, and appropriately using HOA fees to improve the community. It also includes hiring and overseeing personnel to care for physical aspects of commonly shared amenities, such as pools, club houses, or playgrounds as well as individual residential upkeep. This is a lot to see and manage, and if a board of directors is new and inexperienced, it can be a fiasco trying to delegate responsibilities for either party.

The Solution

The solution to HOA management, as we have found, is nothing short of a little outsourcing. There are specific HOA management companies in Arizona who specialize in assisting boards of directors with all of their duties, from administrative to maintenance services. The best companies that manage HOAs include fee collectors, bookkeepers, accountants, and professional teams of maintenance and landscape workers. HOA management companies may just be the godsend that all Arizona HOAs have been looking for.
